'Island Friend'

Every winter, thousands of humpback whales travel to the warm, shallow waters of Hawai‘i to mate, give birth, and raise their young. These North Pacific Humpback Whales leave the icy waters around Alaska during the fall, swimming practically non-stop for nearly 6 to 8 weeks before reaching their Hawaiian winter home. We welcome our 'friends' to the island and they put on a magnificent show for tourist and locals alike.

Solomon believes that we are a better people if we turn one to another and help whenever we are able to do so. All of our first responders place their lives each and everyday to help all of us in times of distress, and many have given their lives for it.
